Check out Ray LaMontagne's song 'Jolene'.
He once worked at a shoe factory (allegedly). Then quit and started singing. I am really relieved that he did so. His voice is like no other.
Do not confuse 'Jolene' with Dolly Parton's song of the same name. Although that one is sort of alright as well.
